Thai-Style Larb Lettuce Cups

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 4 garlic cloves chopped
  • 3/4 lb ground pork
  • 1 tspn sugar
  • 1 tspn fish sauce
  • 1/2 tspn soy sauce
  • 2 Thai chilies chopped
  • 1/4 cup mint
  • 1/4 cup Thai basil
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1/4 cup red onion sliced
  • butter lettuce

Sauce

  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 3 Thai chilies chopped
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a pan and saute the garlic for about a minute.

  2. Add the pork and cook until mostly browned.

  3. Add the sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, and chilies. Saute until pork is completely cooked.

  4. Salt & pepper to taste, add the mint, basil, cilantro and red onion. Saute until basil and mint are tender.

  5. Scoop larb into a lettuce leaf. Drizzle with sauce. Enjoy.

Sauce

  1. In a bowl, combine the sugar, lime juice, thai chilies, fish sauce, and water. Whisk well.
