Extra-Crunchy Calamari

Fried calamari is a popular appetizer. It only takes a few minutes to enjoy it with your favorite beverage in the comfort of your own home.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Squid Cleaned and Cut
  • 1 cup Butter Milk
  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • 3/4 cup Corn Flour
  • 6 tbsp Fine Yellow Cornmeal
  • 2 tspn Old Bay Seasoning
  • 2 tspn Kosher Salt
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, coat the squid with the butter milk evenly. Cover and chill.

  2. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together the dry ingredients well.

  3. Coat each squid piece with the dry ingredient mix evenly.

  4. Fry the coated squid in batches for 45 seconds on medium high heat. Drain excess oil using colander. Salt to taste and serve while still warm with a lemon wedge and cocktail sauce for dipping.
