Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup flour all-purpose
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 pasteurized large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Sprinkle flour evenly on a rimmed baking sheet. Toast it in the prepped oven for 6 minutes. Let it cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes. Stir in the baking soda.

  2. Combine butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in heavy-duty electric stand mixer's bowl. Beat on medium speed until the mixture becomes light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add egg and vanilla and keep beating until just combined. Add the toasted flour mixture and beat on low speed until it's fully incorporated. Stir in the white and regular chocolate chips and let the mixture chill for at least an hour.

  3. You can serve the cookie dough raw, or bake it into cookies (though baking cooking dough you made with the intent to eat it kind of defeats the purpose). To make cookies, drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet. Bake 'em at 350°F until they're browned, about 11 to 13 minutes. Let 'em cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving.
