Prime Rib with Garlic Herb Butter
A delicious restaurant style prime rib roast.
- 1 cup softened butter
- 7 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 5-7 lbs boneless rib roast
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef stock
Combine the butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Completely coat the rib roast with the butter mixture and bake at 500 degrees Fahrenheit at 5 min/lb for medium rare.
Turn off heat and rest in oven for 2 hours. Do not open the oven doors.
Separate the rib roast and the juices collected on the bottom. Pour the juice into a pot on medium-high heat.
Add the flour to the pot and whisk until the flour is completely dissolved and the liquid has thickened into a gravy.
Pour in the beef stock and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and use a strainer to remove large chunks from the gravy.
