Since I was young, I’ve never liked root beer. Everyone around me seemed to always love the stuff, but I could never get behind the idea of drinking the fizzy, medicinal drink. I much preferred soda, as well as soda floats instead of the traditional root beer floats. Fortunately, I never have to worry about this anymore, since red wine floats are now my new best friend!
This unlikely combination of red wine and ice cream is amazing and creates the best flavor of creamy sweetness from the ice cream mixed with the tart brightness of the wine. Do you know what else goes great with wine and ice cream? Chocolate!
By adding chocolate syrup to your glass, you’re making this a sweeter and tastier grown-up drink. There are so many flavors of ice cream and wine to choose from, it’s nearly impossible to make a decision.
Fortunately, I’ve gone through the work of tasting multiple combinations to find the best ones for you. If you’re looking to get your sweet tooth on, try a nice Pinot Noir with chocolate chip ice cream, with some chocolate syrup on the top! Want darker and bolder flavors?
Try a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and dark chocolate chip ice cream, with a mix of chocolate syrup and dark chocolate shavings. No matter what you desire, there is a mix for everyone in this drink!
