Forget the take-out, try this delicious chicken at home.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper crushed
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves trimmed and pounded to 1/2-inch thickness
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup flour all-purpose
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic chopped
Instructions
-
In a small dry skillet over medium heat, toast the sesame seeds. Stir frequently until they turn golden, about 3 minutes, then transfer them to a small bowl.
-
In a different small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, ketchup, sesame oil, and red pepper. Sprinkle salt over the chicken. Place flour in a shallow bowl, and dredge the chicken in it, shaking off excess. Place chicken in one layer on a plate.
-
Warm the veggie oil in a large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Sauté chicken until it's cooked through, turning once, 5 to 7 minutes total. Transfer to a plate.
-
Add garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant while stirring, about 30 seconds. Stir in the honey mixture from step two. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring until it thickens, about 1 minute. Take the pan off the heat, return chicken with any juices to skillet and turn pieces to coat in sauce. If the sauce is too thick for your liking, add a tablespoon of water. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve.
