The frozen food aisle. It’s one that most of us rarely venture down, unless we’re grabbing a pint of our favorite ice cream or gelato for a dessert in the not so distant future. However, this often overlooked aisle in the grocery store is perfect for some fruits and vegetables, which surprisingly taste better frozen than fresh!
Even better, the frozen produce won’t ever go bad as long as they’re in the fridge – so there’s no pressure to take these foods out and eat them at an give pint in time unlike their fresh counterparts. The best fruits to buy from your local frozen section are blueberries and raspberries.
When you’re eating a plate of berries on their own, it’s a mixed bag- you never know if you’re going to get one that’s slightly too mushy, sour, or just plain bad. All of the frozen fruits will always be sweet and firm, since they’ll never go bad in your freezer!
If you’re planning to try some vegetables from the frozen section, we recommend cooking them instead of eating them fresh! Because your vegetables have already undergone an textural change, cooking them will help them to gain a better edge in flavor while bringing some brightness back!
