Umami-Packed Popcorn

Showtime just got a little more showy.

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 cup unpopped popcorn
  • 1 1/2 tsp fresh thyme chopped
  • 2 1/2 tsp anchovy paste
  • 3 garlic cloves


  1. Heat 1 Tbsp. olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high, then add unpopped popcorn and cover. Cook for 3 minutes or until kernels pop, and shake the pan often.

  2. Pour the popcorn into a bowl. Add 3 Tbsp. olive oil to a pan, then add the chopped fresh thyme, anchovy paste, and minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute and stir constantly. Add popcorn and toss to coat.
