Ingredients

  • 14 slices center-cut bacon cut in half
  • 6 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground red pepper
  • 3/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 28 large shrimp

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°. A prelude to delicious, shrimp-y goodness.

  2. Arrange the bacon in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until partially cooked, but still flexible, about 7 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes or until cool enough to handle bare-handed.

  3. While the bacon is cooking, combine sugar, red pepper, paprika, and salt in a shallow dish and stir with a fork until thoroughly combined. Set aside.

  4. Wrap each shrimp in 1 half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Roll the bacon-wrapped shrimp in the brown sugar mixture from step 3; return to the same parchment paper-lined sheet pan used for cooking bacon. Repeat with remaining shrimp and bacon. Bake one last time at 375° for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
