Classic Veggie Burger
This burger is so moist and flavorful, you'll want to sink your teeth right into it.
- 2 cans black beans 15 oz. each, drained, rinsed
- 1/2 medium yellow onion chopped
- 3/4 cup panko breadcrumnbs
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 large egg
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 4 slices cheese of choice
- 4 Hamburger buns
- 4 romaine lettuce leaves
- 1 ripe tomato
- Ketchup & mustard
Pulse black beans, garlic, and onion together in a food processor until finely chopped.
Place in a large bowl and combine with egg, panko, and 2 tablespoons mayo.
Season generously and mix. Form 4 patties and set aside to firm.
Heat oil in a large skillet. Add patties to hot pan and saute until golden on both sides and cooked through.
Top each patty with cheese and cover the skillet to melt.
Spread butter/nondairy alternatives on the inside of your burger buns. Cook cut side up on the skillet until toasty.
Assemble the burgers according to your tastes.
