The Juiciest Veggie Burger You’ll Ever Eat

Classic Veggie Burger

This burger is so moist and flavorful, you'll want to sink your teeth right into it.

  • 2 cans black beans 15 oz. each, drained, rinsed
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion chopped
  • 3/4 cup panko breadcrumnbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp canola oil


  • 4 slices cheese of choice
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 ripe tomato
  • Ketchup & mustard


  1. Pulse black beans, garlic, and onion together in a food processor until finely chopped.

  2. Place in a large bowl and combine with egg, panko, and 2 tablespoons mayo.

  3. Season generously and mix.  Form 4 patties and set aside to firm. 

  4. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add patties to hot pan and saute until golden on both sides and cooked through.

  5. Top each patty with cheese and cover the skillet to melt.

  6. Spread butter/nondairy alternatives on the inside of your burger buns.  Cook cut side up on the skillet until toasty.

  7. Assemble the burgers according to your tastes.
