These Unbaked Brownies Defy All Expectations

Unbaked Brownies

Vegan, raw, and gluten-free sweets to be enjoyed guilt-free.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups pitted dates loosely packed
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil melted

Instructions

  1. Mix together the dates, walnuts, 6 Tbsp. cacao powder, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 2 tsp. water and salt in a food processor. Process that mess until completely it's smooth.

  2. Lightly grease (or line with wax paper) a square baking dish then transfer dough to the dish. Press dough very firmly into the dish with your hands until it's evenly distributed.

  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup cocoa powder, remaining 1/2 tsp. vanilla, maple syrup, and oil. Stir this mixture until it becomes a paste. Congratulations, you just made frosting. Spread the paste evenly over the dough in your baking dish. 

  4. Refrigerate the brownies for at least 2 hours to get 'em nice and thick, and you're done.
