Ingredients

  • 5 blood oranges
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp blood orange bitters
  • 1 tsp aromatic bitters
  • 8 cans plain sparkling water

Instructions

  1. Zest and juice 4 of your 5 oranges. Cut the remaining orange into thin rounds, then slice those in half. Set the slices aside to use as your garnish.

  2. Combine the orange zest, juice, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. When it reaches a boil, take the pan off the heat and let it stand for 10 minutes.

  3.  Strain the orange mixture, then stir in both bitters. Cover the pan and let it chill for about 20 minutes.

  4.  Combine 3/4 cup of sparkling water with 2 tablespoons of blood orange mixture,(or however much you want). Pour your new soda over ice and garnish with the slices.
