Ingredients

  • 1 pkg hot roll mix such as Pillsbury hot roll mix
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Prepare the hot roll mix according to the directions on the package up to the point where you're ready to shape the dough. With a rolling pin, roll dough into a 13- x 9-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Stir the raspberry jam and cream cheese together. Spread the resulting mixture evenly over the dough rectangle and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Roll up the dough rectangle, jelly-roll style, starting at 1 long side.

  2. Place the dough roll, seam side facing down, on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bring the ends of the roll together to form an oval ring. Moisten it with water and pinch the edges together to seal. Cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place (about 85°F), free from drafts, for 20 minutes.

  3. Prep the oven at 375°F. Bake the pastry ring in the oven until it turns golden, 16 to 18 minutes. Take it off the sheet, and let it cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Stir together powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth and spoon it evenly over the top of pastry ring. Sprinkle with fresh raspberries.
