Ingredients

  • 2 cups leftover cooked rice for buns
  • soy sauce
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tspn worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tspn oyster sauce
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 tbsp corn starch slurry
  • 2 eggs over-easy/sunny-side-up (optional)
  • scallions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Form buns for the burgers with the rice. Pan fry until both sides are lightly golden browned. Brush the soy sauce on both sides and continue to fry until it gets some color.

  2. Form the burger patties by combining the ground beef, bread crumbs, onions, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce and garlic.

  3. Heat pan over medium heat and cook the patties to your desired doneness.

  4. In the same pan, add the mushrooms and cook until soft. Pour in the beef stock and soy sauce and bring to a simmer. Thicken with the cornstarch slurry.

  5. Put the burger together. Start with the rice bun, then place a beef patty on top, cover with gravy, top with an egg, garnish with some scallions, and top with another bun.
