Chicken Parm Pizza
An easy bake-at-home pizza topped with chicken and fresh basil.
Ingredients
- 1 store bought pizza dough
- cornmeal for dough
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 3 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 small onion chopped
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup flat-leaf parsley chopped
- 2 pinches crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 pinches dried oregano
- 8 oz canned tomato sauce
- 1 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
- 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone
- 6 basil leaves torn
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 425℉.
-
Use the cornmeal to coat your working surface. Form a 14-inch pizza crust using your hand or using a rolling pin.
-
Place the pizza dough on a baking sheet and use a toothpick or fork to poke holes on the top.
-
Drizzle olive oil over the dough and bake in oven for 10 minutes.
-
Preheat a deep-skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tbsp olive oil.
-
Cook the meat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. When the meat is browned, add the garlic and the onions. Season with salt and pepper and cook for about 5 minutes. Add the parsley, red pepper, oregano, and the tomato sauce to the pan and heat all the way through.
-
Top the pizza dough with the prepared sauce and then top with the cheeses. Return to the oven and bake until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Top with basil and serve.
