  • 2 pounds squid cleaned and sliced into rounds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper


  1. Rinse and drain the squid, then pat it dry with paper towels. Sprinkle some salt over the squid.

  2. Put a few pieces of squid in a small paper or plastic bag along with the flour. Shake the squid in the bag until they're coated. Replace the coated squid pieces with uncoated pieces and repeat until all of the pieces are coated with flour.

  3. Heat the veggie oil in a medium frying pan on high. Fry the coated squid in the oil until golden brown and crispy. Let the pieces drain on paper towels and serve hot.
