Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground chuck
  • cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1 ounce package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 24 small square dinner rolls

Instructions

  1. Turn the oven up to 400 F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck, bread crumbs, egg, onion soup mix, water, and black pepper. Press the resulting patty mix into a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan. Prick holes through the patty mix to ventilate while cooking.

  3. Bake the pan in the preheated oven until the meat is browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes. If you stick a meat thermometer in, it should read at least 160 F. Drain out any excess grease.

  4. Cut the patty mixture into roll-sized squares, and place 1 patty in each roll.
