Chocolate Stuffed Churro Donuts

Delicious, crispy and sweet on the outside, soft and gooey chocolate on the inside.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter cubed
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tspn salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tspn vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • oil for frying
  • cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. Add butter, brown sugar, salt, and water to a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat to medium-low. Slowly add in flour.

  3. Stir until the dough forms a ball and there are no lumps.

  4. Remove from heat. Let cool for 5 minutes.

  5. Mix in vanilla extract and add the eggs.

  6. Transfer the dough to a piping bag with a large star tip.

  7. Pipe the dough in circles onto a baking sheet, leaving a hole in the center.

  8. Place the chocolate chips on top of the dough ring and place another layer of dough on top.

  9. Transfer to freezer and freeze until the churro donuts are solid.

  10. Heat frying oil to 350˚F.

  11. Fry the donuts until brown and the dough is cooked through.

  12. Drain on a paper towel then roll in cinnamon sugar.
