Crispy, chewy squid, without all the fat of regular frying.
Crank the air fryer up to 400 F.
Place the flour in one bowl and whisk the egg and milk in a second bowl. In a third bowl, combine the panko, salt, and pepper.
Coat the calamari rings first in the three bowls in the same sequence you filled them: flour, egg mixture, panko mixture.
Place the prepped rings in the the basket of the air fryer. Make sure they don't overlap! If you can't get them all in at once, work in batches. Spray the tops of the rings with nonstick cooking spray.
Air fry the rings for 4 minutes, flip them over, give them another spray with nonstick cooking spray, and air fry for an additional 3 minutes.
