White Russian

Course Drinks
Prep Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces 60ml vodka
  • 1 ounce 30ml coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa)
  • 1 ounce 30ml heavy cream
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: coffee beans or ground cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Glass: Fill an old-fashioned glass or rocks glass with ice cubes. This will chill the glass while you prepare the cocktail.
  2. Measure Ingredients: Pour 2 ounces of vodka and 1 ounce of coffee liqueur into the glass over the ice.
  3. Add Heavy Cream: Slowly pour 1 ounce of heavy cream over the back of a spoon into the glass. This will create a layered effect with the cream floating on top of the vodka and coffee liqueur mixture.
  4. Stir: Use a stirrer or cocktail spoon to gently stir the ingredients together. You want to mix the cream slightly without fully incorporating it into the drink.
  5. Garnish: Optionally, garnish your White Russian with a few coffee beans on top or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for a touch of flavor and visual appeal.
  6. Serve: Your White Russian is now ready to enjoy! Sip slowly and savor the rich flavors.

Recipe Notes

• If you don't have heavy cream, you can use half-and-half or even milk, though the drink won't be as rich.
• Adjust the ratio of vodka to coffee liqueur to suit your taste preferences. Some people prefer a stronger vodka flavor, while others prefer more sweetness from the coffee liqueur.
• For a lighter version of the White Russian, you can use whipped cream vodka instead of plain vodka.
• Make sure to use fresh ice cubes to ensure your drink stays cold and doesn't become diluted.
• Feel free to experiment with different garnishes or even flavored coffee liqueurs for a unique twist on this classic cocktail.
