Did you know that, in the original version of The Little Mermaid, the mermaid is rejected by the prince and she dissolves into sea foam in despair? Yeah, kind of a bummer. Let's lift our spirits with some Mermaid Ice Cream.
In a large bowl, beat heavy cream until medium peaks form. You can use a hand mixer or a stand with a whisk attachment,
Fold in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla until everything's combined, then divide mixture among five bowls.
Add a different color food coloring to each bowl and stir until combined. Your discretion on how much coloring is needed.
Layer dollops of the colored mixtures in a 9"-x-5" loaf pan until you run out of the mixture.
Run a knife through the mixtures to swirl the colors 3 or 4 times and then smooth the top.
If you're using sprinkles, throw them on now. Put the pan in the freezer. It should take about 5 hours for the mixture to firm up.
Remove the pan from the freezer and let for 5 to 10 minutes to soften, then scoop and serve. Dahlin' it's better, down where it's wetter.
