Brown Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 half cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 3 quarter cups all purpose flour
  • 1 half teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 half teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until it turns golden brown with a nutty aroma, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Pour the browned butter into a bowl and mix in the brown sugar and white sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then stir until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix gently to form a soft dough.
  6. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Scoop the dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each portion.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are set and lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes before serving.
