  • 3-4 cloves of garlic minced (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil extra virgin

Instructions

Prepare the Garlic:

  1. Peel and mince the garlic cloves. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can use a garlic press or grate the garlic.

Combine Ingredients:

  1. In a medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard (if using). Stir to combine.

Season:

  1. Add the salt and black pepper. Stir well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.

Incorporate the Olive Oil:

  1. Slowly drizzle the olive oil into the mixture while stirring continuously. This will help to blend the flavors and give the garlic mayo a richer texture.

Taste and Adjust:

  1. Taste the garlic mayo and adjust the seasoning if necessary. You can add more garlic, lemon juice, salt, or pepper according to your preference.

Chill:

  1. Transfer the garlic mayo to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together.

Serve:

  1. Serve your homemade garlic mayo as a dip, spread, or sauce for your favorite dishes. It goes great with sandwiches, burgers, fries, and grilled vegetables.
