How to Make Chocolate Ganache at Home

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl and set it aside.
  2. Heat the cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to steam. Do not let it boil.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit undisturbed for 2 minutes.
  4. Gently stir the mixture from the center outward until the chocolate is fully melted and the ganache is smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract if using.
  6. Use immediately while warm or allow it to cool slightly for a thicker consistency.
