Making Chai Latte at Home

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 2 green cardamom pods lightly crushed
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger sliced

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, add the water, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  2. Let the spices simmer for about 5 minutes so the flavors infuse into the water.
  3. Add the tea bags to the saucepan and simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer the tea.
  4. Pour in the milk and add the sugar or honey. Stir well and let the mixture heat gently for another 2 minutes. Avoid boiling at this stage.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the chai into cups.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy immediately while the flavors are fresh and comforting.
