Ingredients

  • 1 Can condensed milk
  • 1 Can evaporated milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Caramel sauce store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  1. Prepare your caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl by heating 1/2 cup of sugar with 2 tablespoons of water on high for 3-4 minutes, or until the mixture turns amber in color.
  2. Pour the caramel into a microwave-safe bowl or ramekin, and swirl to coat the bottom evenly.
  3. In a blender, combine the condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract, and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture over the caramel in the bowl or ramekin.
  5. Cover the bowl or ramekin with plastic wrap, leaving one corner open to allow steam to escape.
  6. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, or until the flan is set but still jiggly in the center.
  7. Remove from the microwave and let cool for a few minutes.
  8. Once cooled, run a knife around the edge of the flan to loosen it from the bowl or ramekin.
  9. Place a plate on top of the bowl or ramekin and invert the flan onto the plate.
  10. Serve chilled and enjoy your quick and easy 5-minute flan!
