Orange Julius Copycat

Course Drinks
Prep Time 5 minutes
Blend Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate half of a standard 12-ounce can, preferably Minute Maid
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Set the frozen orange juice concentrate on the counter to partially thaw, about 5 minutes. While it softens, place four serving glasses in the freezer to chill.
  2. Add the partially thawed concentrate to a high-powered blender along with the ice, milk, water, sugar, and vanilla extract.
  3. Blend on low speed for about 5 seconds to break up the ice, then increase the speed to high and blend for about 1 minute, until smooth. The texture should be thinner than a milkshake — more like a frothy, slightly icy smoothie.
  4. Pour immediately into the chilled glasses and serve right away, while it's still frosty and thick.
