Ingredients

  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seed
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • cup canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ cup water or as needed

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the rye flour, all-purpose flour, caraway seed, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder, then stir in the canola oil and honey. Continue stirring that stuff with a fork, and while you do that, slowly add the water until the dough becomes ball-shaped. Put a cover on and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  2. Turn the oven up to 375 F.

  3. Cut the dough into 4 equal sections and roll each out on parchment paper to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut the dough chunks into your preferred shapes and place them on a baking sheet. Make sure to poke each cracker a few times with a fork.

  4. Bake the crackers in the prepped oven until they're crispy and the edges turn brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Take the crackers out immediately and place them on a cooling rack.
