How to Make a Mojito

A mojito is one of those cocktails that feels fresh, light, and easy. With simple ingredients and a little muddling, you get a cool drink that’s perfect for warm days or relaxed evenings at home. The mix of lime, mint, and a touch of sweetness makes it crisp without being heavy, and it comes together quickly with no special tools needed.

Ingredients

  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • Ice cubes
  • Club soda
  • Extra mint and lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the mint leaves and sugar in a sturdy glass. Gently muddle them until the mint releases its aroma and the sugar starts to dissolve.
  2. Pour in the lime juice and give it a light stir.
  3. Add the rum and fill the glass with ice.
  4. Top with club soda and stir again to mix the flavors.
  5. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime slice.
