Say Bye Bye to Store-Bought Tzatziki
Tzatziki is the cool, creamy Greek dip that instantly elevates any meal. Made with yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and a touch of lemon, it’s fresh, tangy, and surprisingly simple to prepare. Perfect as a dip, spread, or side for grilled meats and pita.
How to Make Tzatziki at Home
Ingredients
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- ½ cucumber grated
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill optional
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare the cucumber
-
Grate the cucumber using the fine side of a grater. Place it in a clean kitchen towel or paper towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. This keeps the tzatziki thick and creamy.
Mix the ingredients
-
In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill. Stir until smooth and well blended.
Season and chill
-
Add salt and pepper to taste. For the best flavour, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Serve
-
Drizzle a little olive oil on top before serving. Enjoy with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or alongside grilled chicken, lamb, or falafel.
