Ham and Cheese Quiche
Nothing warms the heart and gut like a cheesy quiche.
Ingredients
- 1 9 inch pastry for a 9-inch pie crust
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese divided
- ½ cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour divided
- ½ cup diced cooked ham
- 2 tablespoons honey mustard
- 1 ¼ cups half-and-half
- 5 eggs beaten
- ¼ cup green onions
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
-
Turn the oven up to 400 F. While it's heating up, press the pie pastry into a 9-inch pie plate.
-
Bake the crust in the oven for 5 minutes. Poke a few holes into the crust with a fork, then continue baking until lightly browned, about another 5 minutes.
-
Turn the oven down to 350 F.
-
In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, and 1 tablespoon flour, then spread that stuff over the warm crust.
-
In another bowl, stir ham and honey mustard together until the ham is completely coated. Spoon that stuff over the cheese mixture.
-
In yet another bowl, mix the half-and-half, eggs, green onions, 1 tablespoon flour, and salt together. Pour that mixture carefully over the ham layer, then top it off with the remaining Cheddar cheese.
-
Bake the assembled quiche in the preheated oven until the center sets, 40 to 50 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
