Ingredients

  • 8 oz. chow mein noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, red bell pepper, and sliced mushrooms to the same pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage to the pan and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  5. Mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
  6. Add the cooked chow mein noodles and the sauce to the pan with the vegetables. Stir-fry everything together for 2-3 minutes until the noodles are coated in the sauce and heated through.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the pan and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until everything is well combined.
  8. Serve the chow mein hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
