
Quick Snack High in Protein
Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and ready in just 15 minutes, this healthy popcorn chicken is the perfect quick snack or light meal. It uses simple ingredients and an air fryer or oven for that golden crunch without the deep frying.
Popcorn Chicken
Ingredients
- 500 g boneless chicken breast cut into small bite-sized pieces
- ½ cup plain yogurt or buttermilk
- ¾ cup breadcrumbs whole wheat or panko
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional for extra crispness
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
Marinate the chicken

In a bowl, mix yogurt with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken pieces and coat well. Let it sit for 5 minutes while you prepare the coating.
Prepare the crumb mix

In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Toss the marinated chicken pieces in the crumb mix until evenly coated.
Cook the chicken

Air fryer: Preheat to 200°C (400°F). Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer, spray lightly with olive oil, and cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through.
Oven

If you don't have an airfryer, bake at 220°C (425°F) for 15 minutes or until golden and cooked through, turning once.
Serve
