Homemade Oreos
One of the world's most beloved chocolate and creme sandwich cookies, now in your own kitchen.

Ingredients
Cookie
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tspn salt
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 cups dark chocolate cocoa powder
- 1/2 tspn baking soda
Creme Filling
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tspn vanilla
Instructions

Combine the butter, sugar, and salt with a mixer. Then mix in the two eggs.

Sift in 2 cups flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Mix well and shape the dough into a block before wrapping it in plastic and chilling for one hour.

Roll and flatten the dough to the thickness of one side of an Oreo cookie and use the rim of a champagne glass or similar to cut out round cookies from the dough.

Place the cut out cookies and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mix together the butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla to create the creme filling and paste a thin layer onto one side of a cookie and sandwich it with another cookie.
