Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups flour all-purpose
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 pkg hot or mild ground pork sausage
  • 1 lb sharp Cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. Crank the oven up to 400ºF. Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together in a large bowl. Add the sausage and cheese, then use your hands to mix gently and combine, just until the flour is incorporated.

  2. Pinch off pieces of the sausage mixture, about 1 1/2 tablespoons each, and roll them between your hands to form a mostly smooth ball. Place them on parchment paper-lined baking sheets 1 inch apart. Bake them in the prepped oven until they're golden brown and cooked through, about 15 minutes, making sure to rotate the pans top to bottom halfway through cook time. Place the pans on wire racks and let them cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm.
