The Sandwich Jack Craved Coming Down From the Bean Stalk

Giant BBQ Rib Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 rack Baby Back Ribs Membrane removed

Dry Rub

  • 2 tbsp Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 tspn Salt
  • 1 tspn Ground Cumin
  • 1 tspn Garlic Powder
  • 1 tspn Chili Powder

Rib BBQ Sauce

  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 loaf Bread Preferably sour dough or an Italian loaf

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix together the dry rub ingredients and run generously on both sides of the rack of ribs.

  2. Wrap the ribs in an aluminum foil, place it on a baking tray and bake for 3 hours at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  3. When the ribs are done baking, remove the aluminum foil and slowly pull the bones out. If the bones do not slide out easily, bake for another 30 minutes to an hour.

  4. Use mixing bowl to mix together the BBQ sauce and honey and smother on both sides of the baked rack of ribs and broil for five minutes.

  5. Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise to create two big slices. Brush all sides with melted butter and toast. (Optional: spring sesame seeds on the top half before toasting for a nuttier flavor)

  6. Place the ribs in the on the bottom slice of the bread and top the ribs with caramelized onions, parsley, or any other sandwich toppings you prefer. Place the other half of the bread on top and divide before serving.
