Banana Bread on a Stick
Try this delicious carnival style version of the beloved banana bread.
- 5 Bananas Peeled and 2 inches removed at both ends. Do not discard ends.
- 5 Popsickle Sticks
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 Egg
- 1 1/2 cup Flour
- 1 tspn Baking Powder
- 1 tspn Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 tspn Salt
- Oil for Deep Frying
Insert a popsickle stick through one end of each banana halfway and freeze for one hour.
In a mixing bowl, add the banana ends and mash with a fork until it becomes a paste-like consistency.
Add sugar, vanilla extract, oil, egg and whisk until mixed well.
Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Mix well.
Pour the batter mixture into a tall glass cup and dip a frozen banana to coat and deep fry in oil at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or medium high heat until golden brown. Repeat for each frozen banana. Place on paper towel soak up excess oil and serve.
