
Rum-Poached Pears
Sweet, soft, and succulent poached pears. Good for dessert and even a cold!

Ingredients
- 6 pears peeled
- 5 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup rum
- 1 tspn vanilla
Instructions

Pour the water, sugar, rum and vanilla into a sauce pot on medium high heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Place the pears into the sugar water and simmer covered for 40 minutes. Turn to make sure the pears cook evenly and until soft.

Serve with ice cream and chocolate syrup.
