Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of fresh asparagus about 12–16 spears
  • 8 –12 strips of bacon thin-cut works best for crispiness
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven

  1. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

Prep the Asparagus

  1. Rinse the asparagus and trim off the woody ends—usually about an inch from the bottom. Toss the spears with olive oil, garlic powder, and black pepper to give them a flavorful base.

Wrap It Up

  1. Take one strip of bacon and wrap it around an asparagus spear in a spiral fashion. Start at the base and work your way up, slightly overlapping the bacon as you go. If the spears are thin, you can wrap two together for a heartier snack.

Arrange and Bake

  1. Place the wrapped asparagus on the prepared baking sheet with the seam side of the bacon down to prevent it from unraveling. Make sure there’s a bit of space between each one for even cooking.

Bake to Perfection

  1. Bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through. You’ll know they’re ready when the bacon is crispy and golden, and the asparagus is tender.

Serve and Enjoy

  1. Let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving. These little bundles of joy are best enjoyed warmly, but don’t be surprised if they disappear the second they hit the plate!
