Homemade Latte
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk whole milk works best, but any kind will do
- 1 –2 teaspoons instant coffee or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
- 1 teaspoon sugar or sweetener optional
- A pinch of cinnamon or cocoa powder optional for topping
Instructions
-
If using instant coffee, mix it with 2 tablespoons of hot water until dissolved. For brewed coffee, make it strong so it holds its flavor against the milk. Pour it into your mug.
-
In a small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam. Do not let it boil.
-
Whisk the milk quickly with a hand whisk or use a blender for 20–30 seconds until it becomes foamy. You can also pour it into a jar, close the lid, and shake it vigorously for about a minute.
-
Pour the warm milk into your mug, holding back the foam with a spoon. Then, spoon the foam on top to finish.
-
Sprinkle a little cinnamon, cocoa powder, or nutmeg on top if you like.
