Bechamel Sauce
This classic white sauce is smooth and creamy with a hint of spice.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth cold
- 1 cup half-and-half cold
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 pinch dried thyme
- 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
Instructions

Melt the butter in a small saucepan, then stir in the flour, salt, and white pepper.

Add the half-and-half and chicken broth at the same time and stir well. Make sure they're cold when you add them!

Cook the sauce on medium heat while stirring frequently until it's nice and thick. Take the pan off the heat and stir in the seasonings.
