Creamy, Cheesy Chicken Parm Dip

Chicken Parmesan Dip

A quick and easy Italian-inspired appetizer that's to die for!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups shredded rotisseire chicken
  • 1 pkg cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce divided
  • 1 pkg pre-shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 1/2 cup panko Japanese-style breadcrumbs
  • 2 oz Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
  • fresh basil for garnish
  • seasoned pita chips or crostini for dipping

Instructions

  1. Crank the oven up to 375°F. Stir together chicken, cream cheese, salt, pepper, 1 1/2 cups of the marinara, and 1 cup of the mozzarella in a medium bowl until they're properly combined. Spread the mixture evenly in an 8-inch square casserole dish. Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of marinara evenly over the chicken mixture and sprinkle it with the remaining mozzarella. Bake it in the oven until the cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.  

  2. While the dip is baking, stir together panko, Parmesan, olive oil, and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle the resulting mixture evenly over the dip, and bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 15 minutes. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil and serve with pita chips or crostini.
