Course Drinks
Prep Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of freshly brewed strong coffee
  • 1 ounce of Irish whiskey
  • 1/2 ounce of hazelnut liqueur e.g., Frangelico
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of whipped cream
  • Ground cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish optional

Instructions

  1. Brew the Coffee: Start by brewing a strong cup of your favorite coffee. You can use a French press, drip coffee maker, or any method you prefer.
  2. Prepare the Glass: Choose a heat-resistant glass or mug to serve your Irish Nut Coffee. Preheat the glass by filling it with hot water for a minute, then discard the water.
  3. Add Irish Whiskey and Hazelnut Liqueur: Pour 1 ounce of Irish whiskey and 1/2 ounce of hazelnut liqueur into the preheated glass.
  4. Sweeten with Brown Sugar: Add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the glass. Adjust the sweetness according to your taste preferences.
  5. Pour in the Coffee: Pour the freshly brewed coffee into the glass, stirring gently to dissolve the sugar.
  6. Top with Whipped Cream: Carefully spoon 2 tablespoons of whipped cream over the surface of the coffee. The cream should float on top, creating a rich and luxurious layer.
  7. Garnish: Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg over the whipped cream for an extra layer of flavor and aroma.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the Irish Nut Coffee hot and enjoy the delightful combination of coffee, Irish whiskey, hazelnut, and sweet whipped cream. Sip slowly and savor the warmth on a cold day.
