A simple, no-bake dessert that everyone loves

Tiramisu looks fancy, but it’s surprisingly easy to make at home. Soft ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone, and a touch of espresso come together in layers that feel smooth, rich, and satisfying. This version skips complicated steps and keeps everything straightforward, making it perfect for beginners or anyone who wants a quick dessert that still tastes luxurious.

Italian Tiramisu

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cold heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups strong brewed espresso or coffee cooled
  • 3 tablespoons sugar for the coffee
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 package ladyfingers
  • Optional: a light splash of coffee liqueur

Instructions

  1. Whip the cream: In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  2. Make the mascarpone mixture: In another bowl, mix the mascarpone, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Prepare the coffee soak: Stir the cooled espresso with the sugar. Add a small splash of liqueur if you want a deeper flavor.
  4. Dip the ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee. Do not soak them too long or they will fall apart.
  5. Layer the dessert: In a dish or small cups, place a layer of dipped ladyfingers. Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top. Repeat the layers until you reach the top.
  6. Chill and finish: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best texture. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
