Bangers and Mash Bombs
Deep-fried sausage stuffed mashed potatoes.
- 3 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion diced
- salt to taste
- 1 1/3 lb potato peeled, chopped, boiled
- 1/3 cup cheddar cheese grated
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 8 pork sausages cooked
- 3/4 cup bread crumbs
- peanut or vegetable oil for frying
Heat a sauce pan over medium-high heat and melt butter. Add the onion and season with salt and pepper. Cook until brown and caramelized.
Mash the potatoes, caramelized onions, cheese, softened butter, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Cut sausages into 2-inch pieces and encase in potato mixture.
Make breading station with flour, egg, and bread crumbs.
Coat sausages in the flour, then eggs, followed by bread crumbs. Do this in the same order one more time.
Heat the frying oil in a pot on medium-high heat.
Deep-fry the bangers and mash bombs until golden brown.
Drain excess oil, season with salt, and serve with gravy.
