Is it cliché to call angel food cake "heavenly?" Too bad, we're doing it anyway.

Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups cake flour
- 1 ¾ cups white sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups egg whites
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks, then add in the cream of tartar, vanilla, and almond extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, and salt. Repeat five times.

Carefully combine the egg whites with the dry ingredients, then pour the whole mix into an ungreased 10 inch tube pan.

Place the pan in a cold oven. Turn the oven on and turn the heat up to 325 F. Bake the pan for about one hour, or until the cake is golden brown.

Turn the pan over and let the cake cool in it. When thoroughly cooled, remove the cake from the pan.
