Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tspn sage
  • 1/4 tspn thyme
  • cayenne powder
  • 1/2 tspn black pepper
  • 1/4 tspn salt
  • 1 package store-bought biscuit dough
  • 2 eggs whisked

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground pork in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned.

  2. Add in the flour and stir, making sure the flour in incorporated into the pork and grease.

  3. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring and bring to a simmer.

  4. Add in the sage, thyme, a pinch of cayenne, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and continue simmering until it becomes thicker, gravy-like consistency.

  5. Grease an ice cube tray and spoon the gravy in. Freeze for 20 minutes.

  6. Lay out the biscuit dough on a baking sheet and push in the middle with your thumb, creating a cup to hold a gravy cube. Place a gravy cube in every biscuit and pinch the edges together to seal. Turn over back onto the baking sheet with the sealed side down. Brush the top with the egg wash.

  7. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes. Serve warm.
