A Korean Flare for Your BBQ This Summer: Bulgogi!

Korean BBQ-Style Beef (Bulgogi)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Thinly Sliced Beef Sirloin
  • 1 Sliced Onion
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 Asian Pear
  • 2 Spring Onions
  • 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tspn Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare beef slices in a large bowl.

  2. Marinade: Put 1/2 of the sliced onion, garlic cloves, Asian pear, 1 spring onion, brown sugar, ground black pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a blender and blend until it becomes a smooth consistency.

  3. Pour blended marinade over beef slices and add the other 1/2 of the sliced onions. Mix well.

  4. Cover the bowl and chill for 30 mins.

  5. Pour 1 tbsp of cooking oil in a large pan or cast-iron skillet and preheat over medium-high heat.

  6. Add the marinaded beef into the heated pan and stir often until cooked evenly.

  7. Top with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds (optional) and serve with steamed white rice.
