Cherry Tomato Sauce
Your weeknight pasta has a fresh new twist.

- 1 pound pasta
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 3 pints cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 cup coarsely chopped fresh basil
- 1 batch freshly grated parmesan for serving
- 2 cloves garlic large, finely chopped
- 1 pinch Kosher salt
Heat a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook according to package instructions and drain. Reserve some pasta water, like 1/4 cup.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Add in garlic and toast lightly. Next, mix in sugar, cherry tomatoes, salt, and pepper and cook for 10 minutes. Use a spoon to crush up tomatoes.
Pour in the pasta, a little pasta water, and basil. Toss to combine.
Top with Parmesan.
