Crispy, cheesy croutons, perfect for dipping.
- 1 French baguette cut into diagonal 1/2 inch slices
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 cup finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
Turn the oven up to 350 F. While that's heating up, line a baking sheet with parchment or a silicone baking mat.
Arrange the bread slices in a single layer on the sheet and lightly brush each with olive oil. Bake the slices in the preheated oven until bread starts getting crispy, about 12 minutes. Take the pan out of the oven.
Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the slices and put them back in the oven, baking for another 5 minutes. Remove from oven.
Turn each bread slice over and sprinkle the other sides with the remaining cheese. Put the pan in the oven one more time bake until fully crispy, 5 to 10 minutes.
